Tho mortal remains of tho hue High Sheriff HarriB wore followed to Ross Bay Cemetery yesterday afternoon. In spito of the inclemency of the wetither tha attendance was largo. Tho cortego moved from the residence shortly after '2 o'clock, tho mayor, members of the city council, the civic ctiicors, the members of tho tiro department, with the chief and assistant engineers, and the members of the police force occupying the right. Then followed the pallbearers; tho chief mourners— Mayor Dickenson of New Westminster and Mr. Win. Wilson of this city—and citizens in carriages and afoot. At tho Reformed Epiacopnl Church tho burial service was read by Bishop Cridgo, and after a hymn by the choir and the solemn strains of the Dead March in Saul had poured forth from tho organ tho procession proceeded to Rosa Bay Cemotary, whero tho remains woro interred. Tho pallbearers wero Hon. A. E. B. Davio, Mr. E. B. Marvin,ex-Shoriff Byrne, Mr. A. A. Greon, Mr. J. Wilson, Mr. H. Short, Mr. N. Shakespeare, M. P., and Mr. D. W. Higgins. The fire department and city flags wore at half-mast during tho day.

Capt. Peele received notice last night that an appropriation had been made for a now rillo range which will bo on tho other side of the rircr, opposite this city.
It was expected that tho now telegraph cable would bo laid across Burrard Inlet yesterday, between Moodyville and Hastings. From Hastings a wire will connect with the main line at Granville.
